Elbit Systems to Provide ReDrone Counter UAS Solution to The Netherlands
Israel-based Elbit Systems has signed a $55 million contract with the Netherlands for the sale of the ReDrone multilayer anti-drone system. Elbit Systems will provide various mobile, stationary, and deployed configurations of the ReDrone multilayer anti-drone system, as well as logistics support and training, as part of the contract. The contract will be completed within four years.
Oren Sabag, General Manager of Elbit Systems, issued the following statement regarding the development: “The growing threat of drones creates an increasing demand for our Counter UAS solutions. We have leveraged our technology of advanced radar, signal intelligence, electro optic and electronic warfare technologies to develop an advanced, open and future ready solution for this emerging requirement of our customers. We are very proud to have been selected by the Netherlands to supply this solution and further strengthen our long term partnership.”
Elbit Systems’ ReDrone anti-drone system detects, identifies, tracks, and neutralizes various types of drones flying within various radio frequency communication protocols. The company’s advanced DAiR Radar, signal intelligence (SIGINT) sensors, the COAPS-L electro-optical (EO) payload that provides an advanced integrated aerial picture, and high-level electronic attack capabilities comprise the anti-drone system, which ensures the protection of borders, airports, ports, strategic facilities, military bases, and military or VIP convoys against enemy drones. When the ReDrone system detects a target, it disrupts the drone’s communication with its operator, blocks its radio and video signals, and GPS positioning data, and sends it off course, preventing it from carrying out an attack.
According to Elite the infrastructure of ReDrone is designed for quick and easy deployment in a variety of application areas and terrains and is suitable for operation in all weather conditions. The system integrates easily with any architecture and can be deployed in a variety of configurations, including mobile, stationary, portable, transportable, and fixed. ReDrone requires no special skills and can be set up in less than 20 minutes by a single person.
