ST Engineering Introduces Taurus UGV

Singapore’s ST Engineering have introduced a new multi-role 4×4 UGV, the TAURUS. The TAURUS has been designed to be multi-functional with a modular design which allows it to be optimised for logistics tasks, surveillance and reconnaissance, casualty evacuation and disaster relief operations.

ST Engineering’s TAURUS enters a burgeoning unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) sector which has a number of major players including Milrem Robotics’ THeMIS, GDLS MUTT, Rheinmetall Mission Master XT, Elbit/Roboteam PROBOT and Havelsan BARKAN.

Capabilities:

  • Regenerative on-the-move power hub, providing electrical power to compatible systems in the field and can recharge while being towed giving high energy effiency
  • High degree of portability, can be transported or towed in the field
  • Fully electric, all wheel drive and all wheel steer with independent drive units on each wheel
  • AI-capable, autonomy capability integration-ready, can follow waypoint navigation, avoid obstacles and follow designated individual or vehicle

Payloads:

  • Can deploy tethered unmanned aerial vehicles and quadruped drones for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance
  • Logistic module, optimised for logistic support missions with a collapsible container system
  • Casevac capability with space for two stretchers which can evacuate wounded safely
  • Further logistics capability with a material handling configuration which includes a portable generator and a robotic arm
  • Can be up-armoured to provide increased protection
