Canada Signs Contracts With GDLS-Led Team For New Logistics Vehicles

The Canadian government officially awarded General Dynamics Land Systems Canada and joint venture partner Marshall Canada a contract to supply the Canadian Armed Forces with a new fleet of logistics vehicles based on the Mercedes-Benz Zetros on Wednesday.

The contract for supplying over 1,000 light trucks and approximately 500 heavy trucks under the Logistics Vehicle Modernization project with associated equipment is valued at CA$1.5 billion including taxes, with deliveries expected to begin in fall 2027. A second contract for in-service support over 25 years is valued up to CA$1.08 billion inclusive of taxes.

According to the Canadian defense ministry, the Logistics Vehicle Modernization project could potentially create or maintain 1,550 jobs and contribute CA$200 million to Canada’s GDP over an eight-year period.
