UAE’s EDGE Unveils JENIAH Unmanned Combat Aircraft

The Emirati Edge Group unveiled its latest Jeniah Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) at IDEX 2025, highlighting the UAE’s commitment to advancing future air combat strategies. Developed by Emirati defense conglomerate EDGE Group subsidiary ADASI, Jeniah is a high-speed, low-observable UCAV designed for multi-domain operations. Its advanced configuration allows deployment in both land and maritime missions, making it a versatile asset for modern warfare. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, Jeniah enhances operational effectiveness and adaptability, reinforcing the UAE’s growing role in defense innovation and aerospace advancements.

Edge Group developed the Jeniah Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) over three years, completing its first test flight on March 15, 2024, at the X RANGE testing facility in Abu Dhabi. During the flight, Jeniah showcased autonomous operational capabilities and reached a speed of 1,050 km/h. This milestone marked the first flight of a domestically-produced jet-powered UCAV in the UAE, highlighting the country’s progress in advanced defense technology and aerospace innovation.

While the exact AI functions remain unspecified, it plays a key role in target identification, navigation, and mission execution. Designed for autonomous and semi-autonomous operations, the Jeniah can function independently or alongside manned and unmanned assets. It is built for offensive strikes, surveillance, and battlefield support, making it highly effective in contested environments. Optimized for networked warfare, it enhances coordination and mission efficiency while minimizing communication needs. The Jeniah also supports anti-access and area denial (A2/AD) strategies, allowing it to operate in high-threat zones with AI-driven decision-making and situational awareness. Whether deployed solo or in formations, the Jeniah ensures adaptability and effectiveness in modern warfare scenarios.

The Jeniah UCAV is a high-performance combat drone with a maximum takeoff weight of over 4,000 kg. It features a 7-meter wingspan and an 11-meter length, making it compact yet powerful. The drone can carry up to 480 kg of payload, including guided munitions, reconnaissance equipment, and electronic warfare systems. With a top speed exceeding 1,000 km/h and a cruising speed of Mach 0.7, it is built for fast and efficient operations. The Jeniah can fly at altitudes up to 25,000 feet, allowing it to operate in high-threat environments while remaining difficult to detect. Its internal weapons bay helps reduce its radar signature, enhancing its stealth capabilities in contested airspace. Designed for intelligence gathering and targeting support, the Jeniah plays a crucial role in modern warfare, providing real-time data for strategic mission planning.
